Nice! This post reminds of a favorite Terry Pratchett quote:

“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”

Wonderful writing, Chris! Life has changed so much, and yet in the mondane day to day we see just how little the world changes. It’s us, it’s our experiences that enable and empower us to grow as individuals and I feel that in these moments of reflection, we not only see who we are, but also a flcker of who we may become. I enjoyed reading your appraisal of your year, and what it meant to you. I can’t wait to shake your hand, grab a beer and catch up right where we left off.
