JTech Weekly: My New Podcast Project

JTech Weekly: My New Podcast Project

I am very very excited to bring you all this news. Andrew Long (host of the Andrew Long Show, which I help to produce), my friend Josh Sprague (a fellow Cronkite grad) and I are beginning a podcast this week called JTech Weekly. The J stands for “journalism”, and tech stands for “technology,” and our podcast will investigate the intersection of these two industries. Journalism and the media are in a crisis as they grasp for ways to monetize content in the digital age, and we will be there to discuss it.

The podcast follows an informal format, so I consider it a blending of Leo Laporte’s This Week in Tech and NPR’s On the Media. We recorded our first episode Wednesday and talked about the iPad, pay walls for online content, and the controversial Wikileaks video of two Reuters photographers being killed by an American helicopter attack.

Please stay tuned over at JTechWeekly.com for the show’s release, and follow us on Twitter (@JTechWeekly) and become a fan on Facebook and spread the good word! We haven’t decided what day each week we will publish (probably Friday), but be on the look-out for the first episode soon! And if you have feedback on the show or want to suggest a topic for discussion, send us an email at mail [at] jtechweekly [dot] com. Thanks a bunch!
