Facebook On Your Site

Facebook Connect has been around for a while now, which has allowed the creation of online applications that let users sign in through their Facebook account.  But setting up Facebook Connect on a site is difficult to understand if you are not familiar with online coding languages and how websites communicate.

Now, however, Facebook has come up with a simple copy-and-paste style implementation of a popular Facebook Connect use: comment boards.  With a quick slap of some code copied from Facebook, applications can now replace their old comment boards with ones that resemble Facebook, and connect the board to users Facebook news feeds and friends.

Facebook already holds hoards of user data within its own userbase, but now Facebook is branching out and placing its stamp on other sites.  The new comment board feature allows an applications current users that are not on Facebook to use the feature too, and with the social networks recent troubles with it’s Terms of Service agreement, it will be interesting to see how Facebook treats new data from non-Facebook users.
